Here's What is Happening:
The Hedgerow project is now completed thanks to the hard work of our homeowners as well as our coalition. A special thank you to Grace for researching and helping us obtain a $5,000.00 grant from the Watershed Alliance as well as a $500.00 grant received from the City of Vancouver.
Also, thank you to Grace for organizing and working with our homeowners. To Dan for hours of work prepping the sites, Russel for digging over 600 holes and the Boy Scouts for assistance in planting. Several homeowners assisted in spreading the word as well as helping to distribute the plants.
We have met with three consulting firms sharing our ideas. While stressing that safety is our priority along with access to our neighborhoods. We're all hoping to improve landscaping over the area west of us while creating an area that would be user friendly. The consulting firms will be submitting their bids to the City of Vancouver (hopefully within the first quarter of 2025).
What's going on to the east of us? A question that we're often asked, "Area 30" is already in process with roads, lighting, etc. being put in place. Once complete we will see an additional 800 homes, both single and multi-family. Hewlett Packard will be building a large plant along with an additional commercial site to be determined at a future date. You'll be seeing change to ingress and egress to the area.
